Hoang Thi Kieu Hau, member of the Club for Young Physicians, who now works at provincial General Hospital said that she has understood and known more about the life and become more responsible in her job when directly meeting those who could not afford to have medical check-up and treatment at hospitals. Meanwhile, student Vo Thi Hoang Yen said that after experiencing hardship in the Mekong Delta province of Ca Mau for volunteer activities, she has known to love the life.

Noticeably, many young people have taken part in youth volunteer summer campaign for many consecutive years. Hoang Duy Thien, vice-chairman of Binh Duong University’s Student Association was a typical example of this. He directly instructed 350 students to carry out many volunteer activities in Cao Lanh district in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap, including opening 200 summer classes, mobilizing locals to give 109 units of blood, donating 50 scholarships worth VND300,000 each to the “Lightening up dreams of youths” program; mobilizing to build and present 6 friendship houses worth VND60mln, donate 6,000 notebooks worth VND24mln…

 

Nguyen Quoc Nhan, of Dau Tieng Rubber One-Member Co.’s Youth Union made the local volunteer summer campaign get more meaningful with such activities as opening summer classes for pupils; mobilizing youths to take classes on computer and English; awarding prizes and scholarships worth VND94mln to nearly 1,900 outstanding pupils.

 

Similarly, Nguyen Ngoc Tam, deputy chief of Long Hoa Rubber Plantation’s Party Committee has always been enthusiastic in social and volunteer activities for the sake of the committee. He and youths mobilized organizations and individuals to give aid relief to flood-hit people in the central region, offer help to needy households and policy beneficiary ones, grant scholarships and gifts for pupils…with total money of more than VND230mln.

 

Provincial Steering Board for the Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign also honored 14 collectives and 11 individuals for their excellent performance in the campaign between 2001 and 2010; 7 collectives and 4 individuals who gained excellent achievements in the campaign in 2010 at provincial Cultural House for Children on the evening of September 23.
