Making basic premises for the building of a new countryside

After four year-implementation, the province’s project on socio-economic development in the rural region has made basic premises for the local building of a new countryside…

Positive results

The project has made positive changes in aspects of the province’s rural society. The socio-economic infrastructure in the rural region has seen improvement; the lives of people herein have obviously been raised….

Over the past four years, through the project, the province worked out 2,215 rural roads of 1,070.85km with a total expense of VND846,717mln, bringing the ratio of asphalt and concrete roads as of late 2010 to 79.2%. As of late 2010, 100% of communes and hamlets enjoyed electricity and 98.85% of households in the rural region were in use of electricity. The province also put 49 irrigation works into use, providing water for 29,594.6 ha of farm land and water drainage against flooding for 14,626 ha of farm land. There were 95% of rural households in use of clean water; 96.7% of communes getting standards in health; 100% of communes , wards, townships having doctors…

The whole province is now home to 419 cooperative groups in agricultural production with 9,761 members; 1,773 farms with 16,960 ha in total; 13 agricultural cooperatives with 627 members. The province has also built 3 high tech agricultural parks, 11 high tech-based agricultural models and continued promoting the development of high tech-based animal husbandry.

So far, there have been 100% of solidly-built schools; 40% of schools at all levels getting national standards; 30 vocational training facilities that provide vocational training and jobs for around 46,500 laborers annually.

The project has made positive changes for the province’s rural region. They are seen as basic premises for building a new countryside of the province in the next period. With the project’s results plus appropriate planning, it is sure that the province will achieve good results in the process of building a new countryside.

However, the province’s rural development process in the next period still faces shortcomings for change, including environmental pollution on rise, unattractive investment climate, some works under slow implementation…
