Many meaningful activities to celebrate National Day

To celebrate the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 9, 1945 - September 9, 2022), on the last days of August, the first days of September, many meaningful activities were actively organized across the province, attracting the participation of a large number of cadres, Party members and people. These celebrations not only aroused national pride and patriotism, but also created a lively atmosphere among cadres, Party members and people from all walks of life to emulate and fulfill goals and tasks on the local socio-economic development.

Upholding spirit of August Revolution

In a joyful and exciting atmosphere with the whole country, on August 31, provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee solemnly held a get-together to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2. The event was attended by former Politburo member, former State President Nguyen Minh Triet; Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation together with heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, leaders and former leaders of the province over periods.

Ben Cat town announces a decision to recognize Phu An as an advanced new-style rural commune

The speech by Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee at the meeting affirmed: The August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam were the result of our people’s long and persistent struggle process under the wise and ingenious leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh. This was the result created from the hardships and sacrifices in the blood and fire of the struggle from the revolutionary climax. Through revolutionary climax since its establishment, our Party gradually matured, built and developed organizationally, attached itself to the revolutionary masses, created opportunities and seized opportunities, leading people to rise up to revolt against the enemy to take the power back to the people.

Inheriting and upholding the tradition, revolutionary heroic mettle in the resistance war as well as the achievements of the former Song Be province, after 25 years of construction and development, with the great efforts and determination of the whole Party, army, people together with the business community, Binh Duong has achieved very important achievements in the cause of national construction and defense. Binh Duong has well mobilized all resources, created consensus among the people to become a dynamically developing industrial province in the southern key economic region. The province’s economic structure has shifted in the right direction. The local economic sectors have continued developing in both quantity and scale with high competitiveness, economic growth, people's living standards continuing being improved.

Along with achievements done as well as and shortcomings, opportunities and challenges identified, Mr.Thao emphasized: In the new conditions, the Party Committee and people of Binh Duong will continue upholding the tradition of heroism in combat, the offensive spirit of the August Revolution, being determined to successfully carry out the set political tasks; enthusiastically implement patriotic emulation movements; further study and work under President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; promote the strength of solidarity, self-reliance, the spirit of national pride, overcoming all difficulties, recovering economic development after the Covid-19 pandemic, contributing to successfully realizing the Resolution of the 13th national Party Congress, the 11th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure; strive to build Binh Duong province towards a smart, civilized and modern city.

Practical celebration works

Earlier, provincial Labor Union coordinated with Ben Cat town to inaugurate the town’s Labor Culture Center to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2. The over 10,000-sq.m work was started construction in early 2020 with total investment of nearly VND 70 billion, 70% of which came from provincial State budget and the rest from the Trade Union’s State budget. The work consists of a convention and event center, a multi-purpose gymnasium and other ancillary items. After being put into use, it will be a place not only for workers, but also the local people to exchange, participate in cultural and sports activities, establish groups, teams, clubs with the same passion…

Provincial leaders award the Party insignia to senior Party members at the get-together celebrating the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2

Thai Thu Xuong, Vice-President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor congratulated provincial Labor Union and Ben Cat town on having more cultural, sports and entertainment work for the local people. She also highly appreciated Binh Duong for special, profound and regular attention to trade unions, members and workers. “The province has supported the work with clean land fund and 70% of capital for construction. This special attention cannot be done by any locality like Binh Duong ... ", Mrs. Xuong affirmed.

Ben Cat town’s Labor Culture Center was built after provincial Labor Culture Center in An Phu ward’s Viet-Sing Residential Area in Thuan An city. It is expected that labor culture centers in some localities such as Tan Uyen, Di An, Bau Bang ... will also be built so that workers have a place to play, entertain, and do exercise...

On this occasion, Ben Cat town also held the inauguration of a park along Thi Tinh river at the section through Ben Cat market. The work was started construction in the fourth quarter of 2020 with total investment of more than VND 75 billion from provincial State budget. It was put into use to improve the environment, create an urban green space at people’s demand for entertainment, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of workers as well as the local people.

On the evening of September 2, leaders of the province and Thu Dau Mot city attended a ceremony to inaugurate Bach Dang walking street and night market. This was one of the important events in a series of activities taking place in the province to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2. Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation together with leaders of some departments and sectors in the province and Thu Dau Mot city attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the work. With over 2.4 hectares, Bach Dang walking street project was started construction in mid-2017 with total investment of more than VND 650 billion. The walking street connects from the Bach Dang - Ngo Quyen intersection in Phu Cuong ward along Saigon river under Phu Cuong bridge and ends at the Huynh Van Cu - Nguyen Van Cu intersection in Chanh My ward. The work also has a park along the bank of Saigon river with many trees, miniature items, drainage system, street lights and modern decorative lights.

Nguyen Thu Cuc, Chairman of Thu Dau Mot city People's Committee said that people in the city have been looking forward to the date that the project is completed and put into operation. This is really a beautiful and ideal space for locals and tourists to walk, visit, shop, entertain and watch streets to regenerate energy after hard-working hours. Bach Dang night market and walking street promises will be a familiar and attractive destination for city dwellers and tourists when coming to Thu land.

Also in Ben Cat town, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President; Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation together with leaders of the province and Ben Cat town attended a ceremony on the announcement of the decision to recognize Phu An as an advanced new-style rural commune in 2021 and launched the construction of a model new-style rural area. On this occasion, on behalf of provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee, Mr. Loi presented VND 2 billion in bonus to Phu An commune meeting advanced new-style rural standards. Provincial People's Committee Chairman presented the certificates of merit to 2 collectives, 5 individuals and 1 household for their excellent performance in new-style rural construction for the period of 2018-2021.
