Mid-autumn festival full of love

On the afternoon of September 19, provincial Children’s Support Fund held the 17th mid-autumn festival and program awarding scholarships to children with difficult circumstances, with a desire of bringing them a warm and happy mid-autumn season.

More than 1,000 needy children across the province attended this year’s mid-autumn festival. Coming to the program, they had a chance to take part in recreational activities and learn about the glorious history of Vinh Loi historical relic site in Tan Uyen town’s Vinh Tan commune. They also enjoyed special items performed by children’s art troupe of Binh Duong Radio-Television Station and children with difficult circumstances of districts, towns and city.

Nguyen Tan Trieu, Director of provincial Children’s Support Fund said that this was one of the fund’s significant activities to take care of children, pupils, students, especially those with extremely difficult circumstances.

Prolonging learning dreams of needy children

The annual mid-autumn festival falls on the beginning of the new academic year, so the program is organized in association with awarding scholarships to pupils and students with difficult circumstances across the province.

Doan Nguyen Trung Truong, a student of HCM city University of Technology and Education said that over the past eight years, he was continuously given scholarships from provincial Children’s Support Fund, helping him maintain good academic results.

Possibly speaking, privileged children across the province got better and better care over the past time. This came from practical contributions by sponsors, socio-economic organizations. This year’s festival received VND3.6billion from them. At the festival, provincial Children’s Support Fund awarded scholarships, bicycles, computers and gifts to 1,190 children with a total cost of more than VND1.6billion.

This year’s mid-autumn festival aimed to honor poor-but-excellent pupils and students while paying tribute to individuals and organizations accompanying it in taking care of children with difficult circumstances. This was seen a gift full of love of provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and the society for the local children.
