Bach Dang Bridge – a key work of Bach Dang commune.

During 10 years of building new rural areas, Tan Uyen district’s Bach Dang commune has showed many changes on all areas. This result is thanks to participation of local people.

Changes of a rural area

Visiting Bach Dang commune in these days, everyone easily realizes significant changes of an agricultural rural area. The communal residents have enjoyed a comfortable life. The communal People’s Committee chairman Phan Van Hoang joyfully said “During 10 years of building new rural areas, the local image of rural areas has changed significantly with strong development of infrastructure facility. At present, main routes in the commune have been asphalted. Implementing the motto of “the State and people join forces with making rural routes”, the commune has built 39 routes with the total length of 21.1km. to meet local residents’ productive demand, the local authority has built 3 water pumping stations and so on”.

In agricultural production, Bach Dang commune has focused on growing 2 main trees of rice and grapefruit. Thanks to hi-tech methods, the local agricultural production value reaches VND59.9mil per ha in 2010, up VND29.6mil per ha against 2009. The local farmers have presently produced their products in line with Viet Gap standards and enjoyed an average income of VND13.8mil per year.

Tong Van Ba, a local senior revolutionist revealed “The local people’s life has been improved significantly. With the birth of Bach Dang Bridge and projects underway construction, I think that the locality will develop further”.

Lesson from mobilization of people’s strength

The done achievements are a crucial premise for building new rural areas in the commune. According to recent surveys, among 19 criteria of building new rural areas, Bach Dang commune has reached 17 criteria. At present, Bach Dang has mapped out land planning for building rural market and cultural and sport center.

According to Pham Van Hoang, the biggest experiences of the done achievements in the locality lie in promotion of people’s strength and appeal of local residents’ participation. These are proven by local residents’ contribution of land and asset for building rural traffic roads. Hoang added “Bach Dang commune’s success lies in upholding local people’s internal force and local advantage of available resources in launching the motto of “the State and people join forces with making rural roads. In addition, promulgation and education about the State and Party’s policies have been constantly conducted for the sake of common goals”.

From the above results, the process of building new rural areas in Bach Dang commune will be conducted successfully in the coming time.

The entire commune now has 100% of people using safe electric grid, 100% of residents using clean water. The locality has 3 big schools meeting the national standards.
