Nine laws, one ordinance made public

Update: 06-07-2013 | 00:00:00

The Presidential Office has announced nine laws and one ordinance at a July 5 press briefing in Hanoi.

The laws are on anti-terrorism, science and technology, natural disaster prevention and control, national defence and security education, reconciliation and amendments and supplements of articles on residence and corporate income tax.

The Ordinance groups amendments and supplements to a number of articles in the Ordinance on Foreign Exchange.

Entering into effect on October 1, 2013, the Law on Anti-Terrorism comprises eight chapters and 51 articles stipulating regulations, policies, and guidelines for anti-terrorism forces, international cooperation, and the shared responsibilities of organisations and individuals.

The Anti-Terrorism Steering Board will be established at national, ministerial, and provincial levels. The board combines agencies organized under the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defence.

In the event of a terrorist attack, police and military units will assume key responsibilities in a multi-force response.

Taking effective on January 1, 2014, the Law on Science and Technology incentivizes the efficient use of human resources, covering Vietnamese talent both at home and abroad as well as foreign experts relevant to the sector.

Meanwhile, other laws will also become effective on January 1 next year.

Coming into force on January 1 2014, the Ordinance on amendments and supplements to a number of articles in the Ordinance on Foreign Exchange aims to provide a complete legal framework for foreign exchange-related activities run by organizations and individuals in the national economy.
