Planning and Investment sector celebrates the 70th traditional day

On Dec 31, the ceremony celebrating the 70^th anniversary of Vietnam Planning and Investment sector took place at Lucky Square Convention & Event Center. Le Thi Mai, Deputy Head of Emulation and Reward Department under Ministry of Planning and Investment; Mai The Trung, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of provincial NA’s delegation; Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; and representatives of departments, sectors, localities in the province attended the ceremony.

On Dec 31, 1945, Construction Planning Research Commission was established pursuant to Ordinance No. 78 of President Ho Chi Minh and became the forerunner of State Planning Commission, and now is Ministry of Planning and Investment. Going through many stages, planning affairs has continuously innovated, contributed to the economic development of the country.

On Jun 1, 1975, Chairman of Song Be province People’s Committee decided to establish Economic - Planning Commission. Along with the re-establishment of Binh Duong province, on Jan 1, 1997, Song Be province Department of Planning and Investment was turned into Binh Duong province Department of Planning and Investment according to Decision 73/QD-UB. Since then, provincial Department of Planning and Investment has implemented preferential policies for investment attraction, effectively utilized all opportunities, promoted advantages, strengths, mobilized resources for socio-economic development. As a result, Binh Duong obtained many important accomplishments on many fields, became a dynamic developing locality in the southern key economic zone.

On this occasion, Binh Duong province Department of Planning and Investment honorably received emulation flag from Ministry of Planning and Investment. In addition, 45 excellent individuals received medal of “For the cause of Vietnam Planning and Investment” from Ministry of Planning and Investment. Also on this occasion, provincial People’s Committee presented a commendation flag of “Transparency - Friendliness - Responsibility - Efficiency" to provincial Department of Planning and Investment.
