Over the past years, urban image of Binh Duong province has showed a gigantic development with a modern city under appearance. The work of urban-rural construction planning has met local socio-economic development. The local urban areas have thus far had detailed plannings.

The locality now has 16 common planning projects, 10 detailed planning ones, 112 accommodation and new urban projects. In addition, there are 69 designs under initiation including 11 urban construction planning designs, 25 subregional planning designs and 29 designs of new rural construction planning and technical infrastructure designs. These planning designs have satisfied requirements of a modern urban image in the future.

In addition, development of urban space has been also set out in the local northern and southern areas. Urban industrial space has been created along 2 traffic axises of Binh Duong Avenue and Song Than – DT 747 routes. The urban areas are defined under 3 forms of old urban area, new urban one and improved urban one. The new urban area located at Hoa Phu ward of Thu Dau Mot city has a scale of over 1,000 ha with integrated administration centers and key works such as Eastern International University, Tan Thanh golf course, service works, hi-grade houses and so on.

Along with plannings, a synchronous investment in technical and social infrastructure facilities has contributed to a strong development of Binh Duong urban area with works of Thu Bien Bridge, Bach Dang islet, Thanh Hoi islet, DT741 road, DT744 road, Phu Long Bridge, An Linh-An Long Bridge…

Meanwhile, the social infrastructure has been under right investment with 112 commercial housing projects, new urban areas underway. A series of social housing areas invested by Becamex, Viet-Sing companies have met low incomers’ demand.

Possibly speaking, planning on land using has kept an important role in intensifying effectivity of the State management on land, contributing to promote potentials and effectively exploit land resources for the sake of urbanization, industrialization promotion and rural development.

In the next 10 years, the provincial administration will continue developing agricultural production areas by improving production knowledge, capacity and effectivity. Moreover, the locality will give priorities for key works to create breakthroughs on socio-economic development, national defense and environmental protection.
