Hiep An ward in Thu Dau Mot town has been founded since Aug. 2008 on the separation from Tan An and Tuong Binh Hiep communes. Aside from advantages of socio-economic development, the ward-based order security situation arises complicated problems. Facing this status, the ward policemen in cooperation with mass bodies and agencies holds legal promulgations to mobilize the public to involve in order security maintenance.

The ward police force often teams up with functional agencies to launch many raids against crimes as well as listen ideas from the public to accelerate the movement of ‘all people protect national security’. Besides, the unit often informs the public about plots of crimes to raise their awareness and protect themselves.

Implementing the government’s Resolution 32/CP on traffic order and safety, the local police force maps out plans to cooperate with functional agencies for traffic safety maintenance. Since the start of this year, the functional agencies have discovered 507 violations of traffic safety, fining 489 cases with over VND150mil.

With the motto of ‘For the country and people’, the local policemen carry out patrols around the clock to solve residents’ problems. In terms of administrative procedures, the ward officials win satisfaction from the local people.

Le Thi Tam, a resident in quarter 6, said ‘the local policemen offer enthusiastic instructions to residents’.

Dai Nam Van Hien Tourism Site is located at the ward, so thousands of tourists visit the site on holidays and weekend. Taking advantage of the crowd, crimes impact on order security in the locality. To assure safety for visitors, the local policemen and the tourism site’s staff jointly launch measures of order security. In the first half of this year, the functional agencies found out 10 violations, confiscating 3 cameras, 7 mobile phones, 5 ATM cards and over VND10mil in cash.

In 2009, the local police force was recognized as a victory unit in the movement for the national security. With such achievements, the force keeps implementing its tasks for local residents’ safe life.
