Prompt preparation

Provincial Electition Committee, on March 4, issued a notice assigning tasks to its members while promulgating its working regulations to the elections of deputies to the 15th NA and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure. Previously, provincial Election Commission also issued electoral resolutions and announced the number of deputies  to be elected, the number of elected deputies of each unit and the list of constituencies by the law; the regulation on appointing its secretariat  for the elections of deputies to the 15th NA and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure…

Provincial Department of Home Affairs quickly reports on results done by provincial Election Commission

According to provincial Election Commission, the central government allocates 11 NA deputies, including 6 central deputies and 5 provincial ones to the province. Through the first consultative conference, 19 candidates were introduced to elect 11 members of the 15th NA. For the provincial level, provincial People's Council Standing Committee unified that the number of deputies of provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 tenure are 72 while the number of candidates is 122. For the district level, there are 87 constituencies. The number of elected deputies is 273 while the number of candidates is 529. For the commune level, there are 621 electoral units. The number of elected deputies is 2,236 while the number of candidates is 4,073. The number of electoral groups at district and commune levels is 1,047.

During the past week, each member of provincial Election Commission expressed his/her responsibility in issuing electoral regulations, decisions and worked with the local propaganda agencies under the Plan No. 09- KH / TU to announce provincial Election Commission’s resolutions, decisions on the mass media. Provincial Election Commission also set up a delegation to inspect and supervise over election work, nomination of candidates and self-nominated candidates, establishment of electoral subcommittees…

Things need to be done immediately

Vo Van Minh, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council, Chairman of provincial Election Commission asked for members of provincial Election Commission to focus on introducing candidates; receiving records and editing candidates’biographies; establishing election committees; rechecking the list of voters;  completing provincial website on election information; preparing propaganda work before, during and after the elections; implementing consultative steps as stipulated; well preparing personnel work for the upcoming elections…

The upcoming elections of deputies to the 15th NA and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021 - 2026 tenure will take place in the context of the country reaching great and meaningful achievements in all aspects of social life after 35 years of renewal. The renewal cause has created important premises for our country to continue developing rapidly and sustainably, for the goal of a rich people, a strong country, a democratic, equitable and civilized society, confidently going forward socialism. Hence, provincial Election Commission has promptly prepared for the upcoming elections in the province with focus on fully grasping the Party's direction views and policies on the elections, especially regulations on cadres and candidates' work in accordance with the central regulations.

Through consultative work, the province ensured that at least 35% of the total number of people in the official list of candidates to provincial People’s Council are women. The number of deputies aged below 40 stands at over 15% while some 30% and above are re-elected. In general, all the candidates comply with central and provincial regulations. There is a decrease in the number of candidates working in State management agencies compared to the 2016-2021 term.
