Province marks 41 years of Southern Liberation, National Reunification

Early April 29, provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee grandly held a get-together to mark the 41st anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (April 30, 1975-April 30, 2016); the 130th anniversary of International Workers’ Day (May 1) and the 126th anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19, 1890-May 19, 2016). Attending the event were heroic Vietnamese mothers; Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President; Tran Van Nam, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Mai The Trung, former Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial NA delegation together with many other leaders of the province over periods.

At the get-together, Mr.Nam delivered a speech reviewing the heroic tradition against foreign invaders of the nation and the province during the past anti-US resistance war, contributing to the liberation of the southern region and national reunification.

41 years since national liberation, Binh Duong’ Party, government and people have upheld the fine tradition of a heroic locality, continuing setting important victories in all aspects. Especially, after 30 years of renewal and nearly 20 years of reestablishment, the province has further upheld advantages in terms of geographical position and workforce, effectively grasped and made the best of new opportunities, challenges, step by step shifting the local economic structure towards industrialization and modernization.

On this occasion, Mr.Nam and Mr.Liem also awarded the “heroic Vietnamese mother” title to 7 mothers.

Prior to that, leaders of provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Fatherland Front Committee together with representatives of departments, sectors, armed forces and people in the province visited, laid wreaths and burned incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery.
