Provincial Blind Association, on April 17, held a get-together to mark the 45th founding anniversary of the Vietnam Blind Association (April 17, 1969-April 17, 2014).

At the get-together, Tran Van Em, Chairman of provincial Blind Association reviewed the tradition of the Vietnam Blind Association over the past 45 years and gave a report on the situation of provincial Blind Association. Accordingly, members of provincial Blind Association have so far enjoyed the State’s policies on social welfare. The association has mobilized organizations and individuals to build 153 benevolence and great unity houses; set up 215 projects generating jobs for 1,453 members with a total loan of more than VND7bln; established 6 facilities making brooms, bamboo toothpicks and massage service, creating jobs for 124 laborers with the average salary of nearly VND2mln per capita per month; mobilized donors to present nearly 61,000 gifts to the blind on Tet and great holidays with a total value of more than VND11bln.

Addressing the ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of provincial Public Relations Committee spoke highly of the efforts by members of provincial Blind Association while calling for organizations and individuals to further support them so that they could integrate into the community, enjoy favorable conditions to better live…
