Province pays attentions to the lives of laborers with workplace accidents

Many young people have had to face disabilities all their lives, due to labor accidents.

In 2006, Vo Van Thanh, a worker of Unieastern company suffered from a workplace accident with the disability level of 91%. This accident has made his family become more difficult. He said that since 2006, he has experienced 17 times of surgery.

Le Dinh Minh, born in 1985, a worker of Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Co. also faced a heart-breaking accident when doing a patrol at the rubber plots of the company, making him become a disable person with the disability level of 97%.

In addition to Thanh and Minh, there were a lot of laborers in the province facing heart-breaking labor accidents, making their lives get more hardship.

Sharing difficulties with unfortunate laborers

Over the past time, the province has paid more attention to the labor hygiene safety and fire-explosion prevention work to minimize the number of labor accidents. But, the number of labor accidents were still high, due to the lack of training about labor safety knowledge, labor safety equipment; laborers’ carelessness…

The province has also made efforts in sharing difficulties with laborers suffering from workplace accidents. Particularly, provincial Industrial Parks’ Trade Union set up a support fund for laborers hit by workplace accidents and occupational diseases; organized the annual get-togethers and tours for these laborers; suggested the Lao Dong (Labour) newspaper’s Golden Heart Fund to consider and award scholarships to good pupils who are the offspring of laborers seriously hit by workplace accidents.

On this occasion of the 13th National Week of Labor, Hygiene, Safety and Fire Prevention 2011, provincial Steering Board for the week visited and presented gifts to laborers hit by workplace accidents with the disability level of 75% and above. Hung Sang Plastics Co. and some other companies also visited and donated money to their workers suffering from workplace accidents.
