Province’s trade sector gains stable growth

In 2019, the province’s trade-services continued reaching stable growth. The province’s sector of industry and trade has stepped up general solutions for goods market expansion in association with international integration.

Stable domestic trade

The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services in 2019 was estimated at more than US$227.8trillion, up 19.2% compared to the previous year or 101% of the year’s plan. Accordingly to provincial People’s Committee, the province’s domestic trade this year obtained stable growth with diversification in goods, stability in quality and price. The province’s price stabilization was regularly realized at markets, supermarkets and through programs bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas with the active participation of enterprises.

The province also accelerated trade promotion activities at home and abroad. So far, the province’s trade infrastructure facilities have been strongly developed with retail forms like supermarket, mini-mart, convenient store and traditional market. The whole province is now home to 106 markets under the plan, 12 supermarkets and 5 trade centers.

Representative of provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) said that the campaign of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods” has been upheld its efficiency. Domestic goods have dominated the local market with reasonable price. In 2019, the province’s sector of industry and trade well realized a plan on market price stabilization with essential commodities. Accordingly, 12 enterprises participated in the 2019 provincial program on market price stabilization, contributing to well serving people’s demand for shopping, especially on the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2019.

In addition, provincial DoIT well realized a plan on market price stabilization for textbook, notebooks and learning tools in the 2019-2020 academic year. Provincial DoIT also coordinated with provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city to take action solutions against African-hog cholera, ensuring the supply of pork and the balance of supply-demand for agricultural products and food.

Provincial DoIT has set a draft project regulating prices for the use of sales areas at province-based markets; made procedures adding Rach Bap market into the province’s market, supermarket and trade center network to 2020; considered and handled a petition of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee on socialization of Tan Long market. Moreover, provincial DoIT has also actively teamed up with the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city to support enterprises making investment in retail forms and traditional markets for laborers.

Export turnover with high growth

In 2019, the province’s export turnover was estimated at more than US$27.76billion, up 15.6% compared to the previous year or 100% of the year’s plan. The province’s trade surplus reached high growth. The number of the province’s export orders increased by 15% compared to the previous year.

Processing industry continued greatly contributing to the local export growth. Its export value accounted for 83.9% of the province’s total export value. There were 22 out of 23 export industries with high growth. Noticeably, 3 industries of woodwork, garment-textile and footwear reached more than US$3billion in export value.

According to the assessment of provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the U.S-China trade war has still brought many certain advantages to the export industry of the whole country in general and Binh Duong in particular. In 2020, the province’s export industry is expected to further reach high growth. The province will also strive to obtain the growth of 10.09%, 19.9% and 17.5% of service value, total retail sales revenue of commodities-services, export turnover, respectively. The province’s sector of industry and trade will regularly organize dialogues with enterprises, industries’ associations in order to help them remover obstacles in production-business; tighten control over the market, preventing trade fraud and protecting customers…
