Province strives to reduce number of poor households to below 1.5%

Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, on February 26, held a conference to implement the 2019 plan on social support and poverty reduction.

According to statistics, the province has basically had no more poor households under the central poverty line. But, according to the multidimensional approach in poverty measurement, the whole province now has 4,707 poor households or 1.62% of total. To well realize the multidimensional approach in poverty measurement for the period of 2016-2020, the province will strive to reduce the rate of poor households to below 1.5% by the end of 2019 and 1% by the end of 2020.

To realize the set targets, 100% of poor and near-poor households will be got loans and legal support if having the demand. There will also be 100% of offspring of poor households with tuition exemption and reduction; 100% of youths belonging to poor and near-poor households granted health insurance cards…
