Province with creative, effective ways in new-style rural construction

Binh Duong province made a lot of effective and creative ways in building new-style rural areas over the past time. The province’s new-style rural construction program had firm and right steps with focus on quality. Noticeably, there were no localities with public debt in the process of implementing the program.

Bending on quality

In the 2010-2015 period, the province mobilized all resources to build new-style rural areas. The emulation movement of “The whole province shares efforts in building new-style rural areas” was promoted and received enthusiastic response from the local sectors, authorities at all levels and people from all strata.

Over the past time, the province had creative and effective ways in new-style rural construction. For example, the province’s infrastructure construction in rural areas was associated with the local strategy on synchronous infrastructure investment for industrialization and modernization. The province’s new-style rural construction was also linked with hi-tech agricultural programs, thereby calling for investors to pour capital into the province’s hi-tech agricultural field, contributing to changing the local farmers’ thought in production.

Upholding achievements done in the new-style rural construction program between 2010 and 2015, the province over the past 3 years continued instructing provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to work with relevant sectors to diversify propaganda forms so that effective ways in the program were widely disseminated among people from all strata. In the 2016-2018 period, the province also further improved the quality of new-style rural construction criteria on traffic, culture, education, health, power, water, environment…

So far, there have been 100% of communal streets and ones from communal centers to the province’s districts, towns covered by asphalt and concrete, up 15% compared to 2015; 100% of inter-hamlet or hamlet streets with asphalt and concrete…The province has also continued building and upgrading rural markets. Currently, the whole province is home to 42 rural markets, up 2 compared to 2015. There are 99.98% of rural households in use of power, up 0.58% against 2015…

Noticeably, there were no localities with public debt in the process of building new-style rural areas. This result came from the solidarity, determination of the local authorities at all levels and people’s consensus.

Towards advanced new-style rural communes

Thanh An commune in Dau Tieng district is one of the province’s localities with earliest new-style rural recognition. Nguyen Thanh Du, Vice-Chairman of Thanh An communal People’s Committee said that Thanh An was recognized as a new-style rural commune in 2013. So far, the commune has continued improving the quality of the local new-style rural construction program.

The commune’s traffic infrastructure and power systems have got more and more perfect. Especially, the lives of locals have also been improved a lot. The average income of locals in 2012 was VND22million per person and the figure was VND55million per person in 2018. The commune is striving to become the first advanced new-style rural locality of the province in 2019.

Thanks to effectively implementing the new-style rural construction program, Bach Dang commune in Tan Uyen town has changed quickly and become one of the province’s outstanding communes in new-style rural construction. Bao Thi Thu Trang, Vice-Chairwoman of Bach Dang communal People’s Committee said that Bach Dang was recognized as a new-style rural commune in 2013. Since then, the communal Steering Board of New-style Rural Construction has regularly put forward solutions and drastically solved major tasks in improving the quality of the local new-style rural construction program. Currently, the commune’s economy is developed towards agriculture in association with trade-services, green urban development and ecological tourism.

According to Ho Truc Thanh, Vice-Chairman of provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, provincial People’s Committee has promulgated a set of advanced new-style rural criteria in order to further maintain and enhance criteria of the program done. The province has also continued building rural infrastructure facilities in line with the local roadmap on socio-economic development; given priority to urgent works such as those of clean water, water drainage, waste water treatment, environmental protection…; further upgraded streets, green trees…in rural residential quarters towards a civilized, green, clean and nice environment in the coming time.
