Through statistics by Binh Duong provincial Customs Department, the unit’s total State budget revenue from export and import activities in the first 2 months of 2024 was more than VND1.73 trillion, reaching 10.31% of the 2024 estimate. As of February 15, 2024, the unit handled customs procedures for 4,644 businesses with 212,779 declarations, an increase of 29.89% over the same period last year. Among them, 65,644 were import declarations, an increase of 18.85% and export declarations were 147,135, an increase of 35.51%. Total import-export turnover through the area reached US$ 6.44 billion, an increase of about 5.55% over the same period last year. Of these, import value was US$ 2.46 billion and export turnover was US$ 3.97 billion.
According to provincial Customs Department, import goods are mainly machinery and equipment, electronic components, garment raw materials, chemicals... while export goods are still wood, garment, iron& steel and electronic products. To successfully implement the set goals, provincial Customs Department will further promote administrative procedure reform and customs modernization, implementing digital transformation to facilitate businesses; strengthen inspection and control to prevent smuggling and trade fraud, contributing to increasing revenue for the State budget.
