Early August 4, Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee had a working session with a delegation of Meti Kansai - the representative agency of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Japan in Kansai Economic Zone.

An overview of the session

At the meeting, Mr. Dung said that after more than 20 years of persistently developing a concentrated industrial economic model, Binh Duong has so far become a city with industrial development. In addition to economic development goals, during the local process of construction and development, Binh Duong is always interested in solutions to preserve and protect the environment.

Mr. Hosokawa Yoichi, International Trade Director of Kansai Department of Economy, Trade and Industry, head of the delegation highly appreciated the efforts by Binh Duong in environmental preservation and protection activities over the past time. He said that this is also the reason for the Meti Kansai delegation to choose Binh Duong as the first destination since the Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Hosokawa Yoichi expected that Meti Kansai and Binh Duong will have a long and strong cooperation in the field of economic development in general and environmental research, survey and treatment activities in particular in the near future. He affirmed that Japan's advanced and modern environmental treatment technology will contribute to helping Binh Duong do better the local problem on environmental treatment and protection.

On the basis of research results, Meti Kansai will offer appropriate solutions to support Binh Duong to thoroughly handle environmental problems.

Mr.Dung said Binh Duong is always willing to cooperate with Japanese businesses in general and ones in the Kansai Economic Zone in particular. He also asked for relevant departments, sectors and units to advise on plans and roadmaps to sign cooperation, thereby building a solid foundation to bring the province's environmental protection cause to new heights, fulfilling the local goal on building a smart city towards sustainable development.
