Provincial summer youth volunteer campaign 2018 kicks off

A ceremony to launch provincial Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2018 was organized at Phan Boi Chau high school in Dau Tieng district’s Minh Hoa commune last weekend. The ceremony took place with many practical activities, giving the signal of a series of significant programs to be done by the local young people in aspects.

With the theme of “Youths in Binh Duong are creative in national construction”, provincial Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2018 will focus on 4 main contents, including “Giving strength to exam season”, “Green summer”, “Red flamboyant”, “Pink vacation” and “Green operation”. The ceremony launching this year’s campaign absorbed more than 600 Youth Union members, pupils and students.

Many significant activities were organized at the ceremony. Particularly, youth volunteer squads provided free medical check-ups, medicine and 150 gifts for people with difficult circumstances; awarded 20 scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils; carried out a “lighting rural road” work of 2 kilometers to Cham ethnic minority village in Minh Hoa commune; started construction of houses of compassion for needy families in Dau Tieng district with a total expense of VND100million. They also launched a “Voluntary Sunday” campaign with environmental protection activities, including collecting waste, clearing canals, and delivering propaganda leaflets on environmental protection…

Vo Thi Bich Ngoc, a Youth Union member in Dau Tieng district’s Minh Hoa commune said that she was honored when taking part in the ceremony launching provincial Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2018. Possibly speaking, the annual campaign has become a training environment for Youth Union members to uphold their voluntary spirit, contributing to solving new issues, joining hands to civilized urban and new rural construction, taking action for the community’s health, ensuring social welfare, protecting the environment…

At the ceremony, Nguyen Tan Dat, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union said that over the past 18 years, the summer youth volunteer campaign contributed to depicting a bright picture of youths in Binh Duong with day-by-day change. It is believed that provincial Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2018 will create new hallmarks and reap good results. This will help Youth Union members get more self-confident, contributing to promoting the local youths’ important activities in the coming time…
