Provincial Women’s Union marks 108th anniversary of Int’l Women’s Day

On the afternoon of March 8, provincial Women’s Union held a get-together to mark the 108^th anniversary of Int’l Women’s Day and the 1978^th anniversary of the Two Trung Sisters’ Uprising.

Attending the event were heroic Vietnamese mothers, Nguyen Minh Thuy, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Organization Commission; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Head of provincial for the Advancement of Women; Nguyen Thi Kim Oanh, Vice-Chairwoman of provincial People’s Council; Ho Thi Quy, Head of the Women's Economic Growth Boosting Division under the Central Committee of Vietnam Women's Union together with leaders of provincial Women’s Union over periods.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the glorious tradition of Vietnamese women and their contributions to the national development. Upholding this, women in the province have actively studied, creatively worked and built happy families in association with studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals; promoted the campaign of “building families with 5 No-s and 3 Clean-s”; strived to train Vietnamese women’s virtues: “self-confidence, self-respect, generosity and responsibility” in the period of intensified national industrialization and modernization, significantly contributing to the local construction and development cause.

On this occasion, Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Chairwoman of provincial Women’s Union launched a Day for Business Startup Women under the theme of “Business startup from creative ideas”.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr.Hung paid tribute to leaders of provincial Women’s Union over periods. He also stressed that sectors and authorities at all levels of the province need to thoroughly grasp targets of women task in the new situation; promote emulation movements, namely  “Women actively study, creatively work and build happy families”, “Building families with 5 No-s, 3 Clean-s”; attach special importance to human resource training…

*Early March 8, provincial Women’s Union kicked off an exhibition on the Day for Business Startup Women 2018 under the theme of “Business startup with creative ideas”, with the participation of 46 female-headed businesses.

The exhibition also comprises of booths from provincial Women’s Unions at all levels. This is part of activities under provincial Project on supporting business startup women, thereby arousing the spirit of business startup among women while connecting female-headed businesses with authorities at all levels of the province for timely support.

It will last until March 10.
