Provincial Women’s Unions at all levels take care of female workers’ lives

 The whole province is now home to more than 600,000 immigrant laborers, 65% of whom are female laborers aged between 18 and 35. Most of them are unskilled laborers, so their income is not high. Before the situation, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have paid more attention to taking care of their lives…

 Provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have always learnt to seek appropriate measures to help female laborers improve their lives amid escalating prices.

Through 62 landladies’ clubs, provincial Women’s Unions at all levels have mobilized members of the clubs to reduce the costs of hiring lodging rooms for female laborers while offering help to those who fall sick.

 The local landladies’ clubs have visited, presented Tet gifts and organized many entertainment activities for female laborers with hard circumstances… on great holidays and Tet. They have also sped up the law dissemination to female laborers, helping them have a more healthy life.

 A series of sub-unions, clubs for female laborers at lodging facilities were set up over the past time, bringing substantial results. Nguyen Tu Thien, vice-chairwoman of An Thanh ward’s Women’s Union in Thuan An town said that the local Women’s Union has paid attention to taking care of the lives of female laborers at lodging facilities…Upon this, female laborers herein are easy to get knowledge on reproductive healthcare, experience on cultivation to improve family meals…

 “Joining the clubs for female workers at lodging facilities, we not only have the chance to relax with useful playgrounds, but also raise our legal knowledge and professional skills via classes on universal education for computer”, said Nguyen Thanh Phuong, member of Thanh Binh lodging sub-union in An Thanh ward.

 To uphold the role of female workers in the period of intensified industrialization and modernization, Vuong Kim Ha, permanent member of provincial Women’s Union has submitted some proposals to provincial leaders.

 She stressed that the province needs to issue some specific policies on giving vocational training to female workers at modern industry‘s requirements; pay attention to building houses, kindergartens near industrial parks, helping them keep their mind on work; diversify entertainment activities for female workers in particular and laborers in general…
