Provincial Youth Federation to perform community-based activities

In recent years, provincial Youth Federation has coordinated with other units, such as: SABMiller Vietnam Company, Binh Duong Water Supply Sewerage – Environment Company (BIWASE), to carry out many community-based activities bringing about practical benefits to the community and youth workers.

Performing the national target program on clean water and sanitation, since 2012, provincial Youth Federation has cooperated with SABMiller Vietnam Company (My Phuoc 2 industrial park, Ben Cat town) to deploy several clean water projects across the province, helping local people to have access to clean water in accordance with the national target program on clean water and sanitation. On the other hand, provincial Youth Federation has also stepped up the propaganda, encouraged youth members, workers, and people to use clean water in daily life activities.

Along with Benevolent program launched by Central Vietnam Youth Federation, provincial Youth Federation in collaboration with SABMiller Vietnam Company to transfer 15 clean water projects with a total cost of VND75 million. Additionally, in 2014, the company installed a water filtration system worth VND50 million at Chanh Phu Hoa Ward People's Committee in Ben Cat town to ensure clean water for drinking.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le An, Vice President of provincial Youth Federation, said: “For the purpose of supporting the community, in 2015, provincial Youth Federation and SABMiller Vietnam Company has continued to give health counseling, take care of policy beneficiaries, introduce jobs, offer scholarships to disadvantaged students, and especially the clean water program to support localities lacking in clean water in Ben Cat town…”

“In May, we also organize Health counseling and responsible use of alcohol program for over 200 young workers in Ben Cat town. Participants took part in exciting games, learned about responsible use of alcohol, received treatment of several common diseases, health counseling, and gifts… This was a practical program for young workers to be aware of the use of alcohol”, said Ms. An.

According to Mr. Duong Hoang Son, Deputy General Director of BIWASE, the company took part in these activities to raise young workers’ awareness of the importance of water in daily life. Besides doing business, the company has paid much attention to water resource to ensure people's health and preserve groundwater resource. “In the future, in addition to clean water projects, I hope that provincial Youth Federation will continue to enhance propaganda of clean water using and water resource protecting among all people for the sustainable development," said Mr. Son.
