Representative of TDM-based Chinese community extends Tet greetings to provincial leaders on occasion of Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival

Early March 1, a delegation of TDM city-based Chinese community visited and extended Tet greetings to provincial leaders on the occasion of the Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival 2018.

Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly delegation; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Huynh Thanh Long, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Council; Nguyen Thanh Liem, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee together with representatives of departments and sectors in the province received the delegation.

At the reception, representative of the city-based Chinese community wished provincial leaders good health, happiness and success. The community now has 1,457 households with more than 13,000 people. Over the past years, the community well realized the Party and State’s policies and laws, continued getting involved in campaigns launched by the local administration. The community last year spent nearly VND2.3billion on social charity activities. Under the motto of “the State and people work together”, the Executive Board of the Hau Lady pagoda funded the work of upgrading Nguyen Du park in the front of the pagoda of 540 square meters with a total expense of VND628million.

Speaking at the reception, Mr.Liem affirmed that the Chinese community in TDM city in particular and in the province in general significantly contributed to the local economic development as well as diversifying the local culture. He also wanted that the Chinese community will further preserve and uphold their cultural identities and fine traditions; uphold the spirit of “mutual love, mutual affection”, actively get involved in social charity activities; organize the annual Thien Hau Lady Temple Festival safely, joyfully and healthily.
