As a newly-established locality, North Tan Uyen district has still faced plenty of difficulties in terms of traffic infrastructure. To fulfill entrusted political tasks, the local authorities at all levels have improved leadership methods, associated political tasks with mass movements, including the movement of traffic network construction, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development.
Investment efficiency guaranteed
North Tan Uyen now has 4 provincial-level streets, 10 district-level streets, 1 urban street and 506 communal-level streets with a total length of around 520km. To meet locals’ demand for traveling, the district built 22 works of 38 km; carried out regular maintenance for 18 other works of more than 139km with a total investment capital of nearly US$89bln in the 2014-2015 period.

The district’s socio-economic development results in Q1 2016 have partially reflected the local investment efficiency. Particularly, district-based industrial parks (Ips) absorbed additional 11 investment projects and there were also additional 11 investment projects outside the local Ips. The district’s value of industry and home industry production, trade-services reached a growth of 11%-13% compared to last year’s corresponding period.
Upgrading existing roads in association with building new ones
Regarding the issue of DT746 streets damaged by trucks carrying stone from quarries, Bui Quang Phuc, Deputy Head of North Tan Uyen’s Urban Management Division said that the district coordinated with the province’s concerned agencies to disseminate the Government and the Ministry of Transport’s regulations on the harmful effects of overloading and punishment as well, thereby mobilizing quarry owners to sign commitments not carrying overloaded goods. They were also supported to build internal roads, make procedures to open internal ferries to restrict road circulation…
Whilst, Nguyen Van Rinh, Vice-Chairman of Tan Dinh communal People’s Committee said that although being commissioned to work out a work on rural traffic worth VND200mln last year, the commune mobilized locals and enterprises to realize 19 works, 17 of which were fulfilled with a total length of 7,627 meters and a total expense of VND3.3bln. Of these, VND2.4bln came from locals, VND383.7mln, 12,254 square meters of land worth VND1.8bln together with 176 working days from enterprises.
According to the district’s People’s Committee, many local traffic projects were approved by provincial People’s Committee and are awaiting implementation from provincial Department of Transport. The local People’s Committee has also petitioned provincial Department of Planning and Investment to deliberate and supplement more State budget for the locality to further upgrade traffic works, meeting requirements of the local socio-economic development.
