Sentimental attachment to the D war zone

Along with tasks on socio-economic development, North Tan Uyen district’s Party, government and people over the past years well realized “paying debt of gratitude” activities for those who used to take part in the struggle for national independence, laid down their lives on the heroic D war zone.

Showing gratitude forever

As one of localities in the D war zone, North Tan Uyen district has attached special importance to paying tribute to those who made contributions to the national independence and freedom. The district’s Party, government and people have always made efforts to surmount obstacles and grasped great successes in socio-economic development with national defence-security ensured.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the district, Nguyen Ngoc Hiep, Secretary of the district’s Party Committee said that thanks to the leadership of provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee together with the efforts by the local authorities at all levels and people, the district has improved difficulties, quickly reached stability with major results in all aspects. Currently, the district’s economic structure is developed with 47.59% in agriculture, 29.51% in industry and 22.9% in services. The average GDP per capita is VND54million, up VND17.8million compared to 2014.

The district now has all 10 communes recognized as new-style rural ones. The district is also home to 4 industrial compounds and parks with more than 1,000 hectares. In addition, the district has gained major changes in socio-cultural fields; strengthened public healthcare; maintained the local political security, social safety and order…

Possibly speaking, the above achievements are seen as paying great tribute by the local Party, government and people to those who made contributions to the heroic D war zone.

When drinking water, remember its source

Under the moral principal of “When drinking water, remember its source”, North Tan Uyen district’s Party, government and people have always paid attention to taking care of the local policy beneficiary families and revolutionary contributors. The district now has more than 2,000 policy beneficiaries, including heroic Vietnamese mothers, martyrs’ families, wounded and sick soldiers…

Thai Thanh Binh, Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that in order to well realize the local “paying debt of gratitude” work, along with realizing policies as stipulated, the district’s Party, government and people have always taken good care of the spiritual and material lives of revolutionary contributors via such practical activities as visiting, offering gifts, saving books, health insurance cards; building gratitude houses…on Tet and great holidays. On the annual War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, the district has organized many activities taking care of the local policy beneficiary families and revolutionary contributors.

As of March, 2019, the district has mobilized resources to give care for the local policy beneficiaries and poor people with total cost of more than VND115.4billion; donated 67 “great unity, charity and “red cross” houses; built and upgraded 40 gratitude houses, 20 houses of compassion for households in need of housing…

The above activities have brought the district practical results in taking care of the local policy beneficiaries while educating young people about the heroic tradition of the D war zone.
