Over years, the Southeastern provinces’ cooperation in Youth Union’s activities has created positive changes. “From now till the year-end, the Southeastern compound will hold many activities for teenagers across provinces to exchange experiences”, said the HCMC Youth Union secretary – head of the Southeastern Youth Compound Nguyen Van Hieu.

What are the compound’s typical activities in 2010, sir?

From now till the year-end, many lively activities will take place. They include “Lighting candles for tribute” program to be held in Tay Ninh province, “Youth Festive Day and traffic safety” in Dong Nai province, “the 10th anniversary of Volunteer Program” in HCMC and “Festival for Southeastern excellent young pioneer leaders” in Binh Duong province. Every activity has a large scale and significance, offering major playgrounds for teenagers across localities.

What advantages does the compound own?

The Southeastern compound is one of the Southern key areas. Activities for youths and teenagers in every city and province show a good development. Especially, the compound has many events through stages. Over years, under the leadership of the central youth union, activities of Green Summer, Pink Holiday give help for many youths in remote and rural areas. The compound has 3 major armed units including Military Zone 7 and Army Corps 4, so attachment between military and people is strengthened. This year has new activities of Youth Festive Day and traffic safety, granting saving book to Mrs. Doan Thi Lien’s family, offering free health check-up and medicines for the poor.

What significance will activities create?

The concerted activities of the compound has created a driving force for provinces and cities hosting the activities and made a good impression on youths.

The compound’s activities have offered common playgrounds for youths across localities.

Recent years, local youth activities have made good development, being valued as an excellent unit for many consecutive years. The local programs have brought good ideas for movements. For example, the festival for excellent young pioneer leader is initiated by the local youth union.

Could you tell more about the festival?

The festival is to boost exchange experiences between Young Pioneer Councils from provinces and cities to affirm role and position of the Young Pioneer leaders. In addition, the event is to honor excellent examples in young pioneer activities. The event will take place at Dai Nam Van Hien Paradise in Sept.

Aside from main programs, the event will include photo exhibition, camping festival, games and so on.
