The Southern Fruit Festival 2011 was officially opened at the Suoi Tien Culture and Tourism Site on the morning of June 1 (photo).

 This year’s festival features many attractive activities, including a floating fruit market with more than 45 varieties of fresh and delicious fruits at prices that are 20%-40% lower than in the market. Among them, there are many from Binh Duong such as mangosteen, To nu jacqkfruit…

 The highlight of the festival will be the “Delicious and Safe Fruit” contest. The contest aims to encourage farmers to apply advanced technology to produce high quality varieties and introduce safe and delicious fruits.

In addition, a variety of activities will be also held during the event, including a contest for making things from fruit, fruit cuisine, an exhibition, a fruit parade, artistic displays, traditional music and folk games.

 It is expected that this year’s festival will attract more than 200,000 visitors. More than 1,000 tons of various fruits will be consumed at the floating fruit market.
