Thu Dau Mot City People’s Committee planned up detail allocation to ensure a safe and healthy festival of mid lunar January at Thien Hau Goddess Temple – a famous spiritual visiting sites in Binh Duong Province.Reporters of Binh Duong Newspaper have interviewed Mr. Nguyen Van Dong who is Permanent Deputy Chair of Thu Dau Mot City People’s Committee, cum Head of Steering Board for the fesitival.Reporters: Please tell us the targets and demands of your steering board?Mr. Nguyen Van Dong: So as to ensure safety and healthiness of the festival, Thu Dau Mot City People’s Committee has demanded functional agencies to concentrate on order control in terms of crimes and safe traffic activities; on management of cultural activities to undermine sabotage; on management of fake monks or fake beggars who plot to make illegal profits smearing festival images in the eyes of visitors.On the occasion, we have demanded and warned of price hiking and customer forcing by sellers. Visitors are overcrowded at Thien Hau Goddess Temple during Tet Reporters: How would your assessment be for the upcoming festival?Mr. Nguyen Van Dong: Basically, the festival stays the same year on year as organized by Chinese communities in Binh Duong Province as the whole and in Thu Dau Mot City.Pagodas and temples host rituals with participation of pilgrims.This year’s festival falls on Thursday and Friday; thus, the pilgrims may stay through the weekend.The crowd should be bigger.We have warned visitors of being more aware for pocket-picking and cheating services including fortune telling and selling of items for rituals.We do know of people ready to exploit the festival for unsafe food selling at very high price hiking and commit offenses.Thus, aside from efforts of functional agencies, we call for awareness and good manner of visitors to create good festival image while not falling trapped to tricks of people of evil intentions.Reporters: How would the allocation be, sir?Mr. Nguyen Van Dong: We demanded specific forces of police, fire-fighting and prevention, military, medical, urban and market management, etc. to join the tasks.Those forces shall be in good position for the festival to come.Information dissemination has been concentrated on along with management of orders and reorganization of pavement occupation for parking lots.The medical sector shall ensure emergency supporting the visitors.Market control forces shall inspect on product quality and price.The forces shall also in robust coordination for more management benefits.
