The under construction port hub of Tan Van is promising to become a center of logistics in Southern provinces to transmit containers to international ports and connect waterway ports of Binh Duong Province in a strategy of supplying logistics chain. Goods transportation at Tan Van Logistics In the overview, Tan Van Port Hub in Di An is located in the center of Dong Nam Bo Region, covering 86.82 ha in two wards of Binh Thang and Binh An of Di An Town. The hub shall be allocated into 64.91ha for logistics activities and 6.44 for portal activities along side with commercial areas of 8.77ha and Dong Nai storehouse hub of 38.6haThanks to favorable waterway and road connections, of which, MyPhuoc-TanVan Highway is considered as the spine of Southern part of Binh Duong Province crossing Di An Town, Thuan An Town, Thu Dau Mot City, and Southern Ben Cat District. Besides, DT743, TL16, and other inter-connecting routes are available.As for waterway routes, ports on Dong Nai River shall be construction at Location C for about 6.4ha to facilitate transmission of cargo containers to current Binh Duong Port in a bid of ensuring large amount of goods to be imported to Binh Duong.Evaluating the mentioned project of port hub construction, Head of Binh Duong Urban Planning and Development, Mr. Huynh Van Minh informed that Tan Van Logistics, as proposed by Bin Duong Trade and Tourism Joint Stock Company, lies in favorable position of waterway traffic, accessible in harmonious and complete technical infrastructure, low in population, and high in industrial land allocation.In a meeting to agree upon general planning of Tan Van Logistics, Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Le Thanh Cung said: “Planning in Binh Duong Province should necessarily include Tan Van Logistics which should be near Dong Nai River to integrate Logistics center to river ports.” “Such construction not only brings up socio-economic benefits but also political significance. In the future, this logistics center shall become a center facilitating necessary services to attract investors and boost up production of industrial parks in the province,” he added.In the same meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan, Chair of Thai Binh Shoes Group (TBS), the investor of the mentioned hub said: “Tan Van Logistics hold a good position as the inter-sectional place of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City. Under such geographic location, Tan Van Logistics lies on the cargo flow of Southern major economic zone through Cai Mep-ThiVai Port and Ho Chi Minh City Port, making it easier for foreign carriers to unload and upload their goods.”“Currently ICD TBS has been contributing VND 400 billion a year to provincial budget.
