Surface water quality in the province gradually improved

According to provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment, surface water monitoring system of Binh Duong Province, which was established in 1998, has now 34 monitoring locations on Saigon River, Dong Nai River, Be River and major canals. Frequency of observation is 1 month / time.

Experimental results from the beginning of 2017 showed that the water quality and surface water environment in the province was improved over the same period of 2016. Specifically, the ammonia nitrogen (N-NH3) content in Saigon River exceeded the permitted standard from 1.2 to 3.7 times, in 2016 was 1.6 - 4.8 times; Dong Nai river 1.2 - 1.8 times, in 2016 was 1.6 - 4.8 times; Thi Tinh River 5 - 8 times, in 2016 was 7.5 - 13.5 times. Be River had the iron content (Fe) exceeding the permitted standard 2.2 times; in 2016 was 4.8 times. Other indicators satisfied the standards.
