Tan Uyen focuses on taking socio-economic development solutions

The Executive Board of Tan Uyen town’s Party Committee has bent on leadership work over the past time, thereby helping the town reach high results in socio-economic development. But, the town needs to take more drastic and concrete solutions in order to fulfill targets set out at the local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure.

Tan Uyen town in the last mid-tenure continued reaching stable economic development in the right track. Particularly, the town paid more attention to fostering trade-services with focus on quality. The town’s economic structure was shifted with 70.8% in industry, 27% in trade-services and 2.2% in agriculture. The town’s industrial production value reached VND19.5trillion with the annual growth of 12.3%. The town’s socialization in terms of education and healthcare was realized well, contributing to the local socio-technical infrastructure development.

Especially, under provincial Party Committee’s Program No.22-Ctr/TU dated August 15, 2016 on “Civilized and prosperous urban development towards a goal of improving the quality of people’s life” and Program No.23-Ctr/TU on “Mobilizing and upholding resources from economic sectors to further make provincial socio-technical infrastructure investment for the period of 2016-2020”, the town has concentrated on traffic infrastructure development with some key works that are expected for completion by the end of 2018 and in 2019 while attaching special importance to urban rejuvenation.

So far, the town has basically reached criteria of a third-class city. However, the town has not fulfilled some criteria on average income per capita, environment, clean water…yet. The town has also strived to get 70%-80% of communes and wards with cultural centers by 2020.

Nguyen Huu Tri, Permanent Vice-Secretary of Tan Uyen town said that the town will take central, provincial policies and solutions in a synchronous way in line with the local real situation to improve the investment climate, promoting the local production-business activities. In terms of urban development, Uyen Hung will bend on realizing solutions to be recognized as a civilized urban ward by the end of the 2018. The town will also fully tap and effectively use all resources to build key works in accordance with urban development orientations; strengthen administrative reform with focus on improving the quality of civil servants at the local requirements in the new situation.
