Tan Uyen, North Tan Uyen organize get-togethers to mark 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day

Early July 25, Tan Uyen town held a get-together to mark the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947-July 27, 2017). Attending the event were Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly delegation; heroic Vietnamese mothers; leaders of Tan Uyen town over periods together with representatives of 200 local policy beneficiary families.

The whole town now has a total of 2,594 revolutionary contributors, including 283 heroic Vietnamese mothers. Among the mothers, 11 are still alive. The town provides 726 policy beneficiaries with the monthly allowance of nearly VND1.1billion. In the period of 2003-2016, the town built and upgraded 215 houses of gratitude for policy beneficiaries with a total expense of more than VND11.3billion. The town also gave 988 saving books worth VND395million for policy beneficiaries and maintained 100% of alive heroic Vietnamese mothers with the monthly allowance of VND1.2million per mother…

On this occasion, 12 communes and wards of the town were recognized as ones well realizing a task of taking care of war invalids, martyrs and revolutionary contributors in 2017. The town also awarded the certificates of merit to 35 collectives and 25 individuals with excellent achievements in the task of “paying debt of gratitude”; honored 25 war invalids, sick soldiers with the title of “Model citizen”, 26 martyrs’ families with the title of “Exemplary revolutionary family” and donated gifts to policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors participating in the get-together.

The district is now home to more than 2,230 policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors and 123 heroic Vietnamese mothers, 433 of whom enjoy month allowances. Over the past three years, the district visited and presented gifts to more than 3,359 policy beneficiaries. The district also gave saving books; built and upgraded 41 gratitude houses worth more than VND2billion for policy beneficiaries…

On this occasion, 10 communes of the district were recognized as ones well realizing a task of taking care of war invalids, martyrs and revolutionary contributors. The town also awarded the titles of “model citizen” and “exemplary revolutionary family” to 17 outstanding war invalids and policy beneficiary families; honored outstanding collectives and individuals in the local movement of “paying debt of gratitude”; donated 4 saving books worth VND10million each to heroic Vietnamese mothers and over 100 gifts to policy beneficiaries.
