TDM city’s youths: Animation with volunteer activities during Youth Month

During the Youth Month 2019, TDM city’s youths have bent on improving the quality of volunteer activities for the community, contributing to well realizing the local campaign of “Building civilized urban and cultural lifestyle”.

“March of border” is one of volunteer programs implemented by the city’s Youth Union during the Youth Month 2019 in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai. The city’s Youth Union members had a chance to visit a section exhibiting photos on “Volunteer monuments”, models on sci-tech transfer in agricultural production and youth economic ones in Bac Ha district. They also took part in a conference on “Solutions to uphold youths’ volunteer role in civilized urban construction” with units, namely Quang Tri province’s Gio Linh district, Quang Ninh province’s Ha Long city, Lai Chau province’s Lai Chau city and Yen Bai province’s Yen Bai city. On this occasion, the city’s Youth Union donated VND15million to Lao Cai city’s Youth Union in order to join hands to carry out 10 youth works…

Following the program, the city’s Youth Union held a ceremony to launch the “Green Sunday” campaign 2019 with the participation of more than 700 Youth Union members. At the ceremony, the city’s Youth Union offered 13 youth works “giving strength to poor pupils” with the monthly subsidy of VND300,000 per pupil. These works will be implemented within 3 years with a total cost of more than VND140million.

The Youth Union branches of all 14 wards in the city also launched the “Green Sunday” campaign with 3 main works at city level realized. Particularly, the Youth Union branch of Phu Loi ward built a recreational playground for children in residential area’s group 23 in quarter 3 with a total expense of VND22million. The Youth Union branch of Phu Cuong ward also launched the “Green Sunday” campaign with such significant activities as cleaning up, eradicating illegal advertising boards on Yersin street in quarter 1…

Le Tuan Anh, Secretary of TDM city’s Youth Union said that in response to the Youth Month 2019, the city’s Youth Union has conducted its branches to focus on organizing many practical activities such as making a program “Volunteer Saturday to deal with administrative procedures for people”, maintaining a model of “Safe school gate”…The city’s Youth Union has also engaged activities in new-style rural construction, enhanced the effectiveness of volunteer youth squads against crimes; carried out youth works under the theme of “youths are volunteer in civilized urban construction”…

Possibly speaking, all activities of the city’s youths during the Youth Month 2019 have upheld their volunteer spirit, contributing to fulfilling entrusted tasks at units, taking part in socio-economic development and civilized urban construction.
