TDM University marks 15th founding anniversary

On the afternoon of June 24, Thu Dau Mot (TDM) University held a ceremony to mark its 15th founding anniversary (June 24, 2009-June 24, 2016). Attending the event were Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Mai Hung Dung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee.

After seven years of development, TDM University has obviously expressed as a multi-sector training school and been developed in accordance with research orientation. The school now has a total of 25 majors at university level and 9 ones at postgraduate level with 15,500 students. After graduation, more than 80 students of the school got jobs suitable to their capacity and especially there were 90% of pedagogic students offered jobs over the past time. The school has also boosted scientific research among lecturers, students; strengthened international cooperation…

For 2020’s targets, the school will strive to meet national and AUN standards. The school will also train 36 majors at university level and 9 ones at postgraduate level. 

On this occasion, Associate Professor Doctor Nguyen Van Hiep, Principal of the school was awarded the first-class Labor Medal of the State President.

*Prior to that, TDM University also held a ceremony to award graduation certificates at university and college levels to 1,589 new bachelors, engineers in majors of pedagogy, environment, English, electricity-electronics, information technology, construction…Among them, there were 56 with good ranking and 1,094 with moderately good ranking.

At the graduation ceremony, the school’s managing board spoke highly of the above students’ spirit of overcoming difficulties in learning while hoping that they will apply their knowledge at the school to life in order to build up a better society.
