In 2021, despite facing many difficulties, due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, sectors, agencies, units, individuals, organizations and the business community have joined hands in organizing meaningful activities for the local people to welcome a happy, exciting, safe, thrifty and spring while effectively carrying out Covid-19 prevention and control. Many activities to take care of the material and spiritual lives of the targeted people, especially policy beneficiary families, armed forces, workers, poor people and families with relatives and those affected by the pandemic…were organized in time for everyone to enjoy spring.
Taking good care of people during Tet
In 2021, the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic in the province affected people's lives, jobs and incomes. Therefore, on the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2022, along with directing the organization of a number of activities in celebration of the Party and the spring, the province focused on taking care of the poor, policy beneficiary families and those affected by Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingly, provincial Fatherland Front Committee visited and offered gifts to more than 1,200 targeted people with a total expense of VND1.2 billion; mobilized enterprises to support and give 200 gifts for the poor, near-poor households, people with extremely difficult circumstances, those with disabilities, orphans and poor patients with a total value of VND 200 million; coordinated with provincial Mobilization Board of the “Day for the Poor” campaign and the Central Relief Committee to visit and give 350 gifts for revolutionary contributors, poor and near-poor households, and those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic with a total cost of VND420 million.
Provincial leaders visit and encourage the local armed forces on the occasion of the Tet festival 2022
Nguyen Van Loc, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that despite facing difficulties in 2021, many organizations, individuals and especially enterprises in the province actively joined hands in taking care of the targeted people on Tet as well as ensuring social welfare in general. These were very worthy of being respected.
According to a report by provincial Party Committee Office, during the Tet holiday, trade unions at all levels coordinated with Party committees, local authorities and enterprises to visit, offer gifts, bus tickets to laborers while organizing recreational activities to welcome the Lunar New Year with a total amount of over VND231 billion. They supported over 58,000 trade unionists and workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Provincial Labor Union also donated 65 savings books valued at VND60 million to children whose parents died from Covid-19 and is continuing giving such 50 saving books in the near future. In addition, provincial Red Cross Society and relevant units also visited and presented more than 58,600 gifts to the poor, Agent Orange victims, the blind, the disabled, the lonely elderly and workers living away from home with difficult circumstances with a total value of over VND24 billion; organized 19 "Zero dong" market-days for the poor. About 500,000 workers stayed in Binh Duong to celebrate Tet, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The province rechecked and offered gifts worth VND 500,000 each to nearly 22,000 laborers with difficult circumstances from the State budget and many socialization resources.
Concentrating on key tasks
Speaking at a meeting of provincial Party Standing Committee yesterday morning, Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation praised all-level authorities, sectors, mass organizations and the business community for their efforts in taking care of people during the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, contributing to ensuring the local social welfare. He said that although there were still many difficulties, the whole political system, people and enterprises joined hands to celebrate the Tet festival 2022 safely, thriftily, and meaningfully.
Regarding a number of key tasks to be performed right after Tet and in the coming time, provincial Party Committee Secretary requested all-level authorities, sectors and localities to further strengthen Covid-19 prevention and control with focus on opening a campaign giving additional and booster shots of Covid-19 vaccine to people; appropriately rearrange isolation and treatment facilities to avoid wasting resources; establish dispensaries, strengthen the local grassroots medical system, bend on completing and consolidating personnel for the 1,500-bed hospital. He also requested them to grasp the local labor situation when enterprises returned to work after Tet to have solutions to the problem of labor fluctuation; agreed to the reopening of schools, the organization of festivals and religious activities that must be implemented under regulations, ensuring Covid-19 prevention and control.
Regarding propaganda-education, provincial Party Committee Secretary requested all-level authorities, sectors and localities to focus on opening classes to implement the conclusions of the 4th Plenum of the 13th Central Committee and related topics in order to build a pure and strong Party organization, strictly handle negative manifestations, corruption, wastefulness, self-evolution, and self-transformation. One of the key tasks emphasized by him in the coming time was that provincial Party Committee and People's Committee Chairman need to focus on directing the commencement of works, especially those of expanding the National Highway 13, the My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway, belt roads 3, 4…Especially, the province will put focus on speeding up the planning of land use for industrial manufacture, urban development, social housing…from districts, towns and cities. In terms of socio-cultural field in general and the restoration of tourism activities in the coming time, Mr. Loi asked for relevant units and localities to research and develop traditional crafts of lacquer, ceramics, glass paintings...; organize displays of products to attract tourists. He believed that with the tradition of solidarity, dynamism and creativity, the Party, government, people and business community in the province will be determined to overcome difficulties in order to excellently fulfill tasks for 2022, creating a momentum for the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 11th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.
