Update: 29-04-2010 | 00:00:00

Over 5 years of communal separation, Tan Uyen district’s Thanh Phuoc commune has changed positively. The local economic structure has shifted from agriculture locality into industry, trade and service. On the 35th anniversary of the Southern Liberation, Thanh Phuoc residents have welcomed an important event of the construction on Thanh Phuoc Port.

Along with industrialization process, Thanh Phuoc has gradually changed its economic structure, bringing a better life for local residents. Do Huu Hau, chairman of the communal People’s Committee boasted the establishment of industrial parks, compounds, building material workshops and companies.

The locality now just has 6 poor households, a significant decrease from 2009. The rate of households using power, clean water has reached 100 per cent.

New port on a countryside river

Many are surprised that a tranquil countryside river in the commune is going to be a port. The port is next Dong Nai River, adjoining Bach Dang islet, Dong Nai province’s Vinh Cuu district.

The 63ha, VND1,450bil construction on Thanh Phuoc port started on April 22 will receive ships with the tonnage of 1,000-2,000 tons. A resettlement area for those who affected by the project has been formed up. The residential area includes full of houses, park, public works, trade center and schools. Once completed, the pork will offer jobs for about 1,500 laborers.
