Thu Dau Mot town mobilizes all sources for development

In the past year, despite the global economic recession, the town reached remarkable results with a 27.7% increase in economic growth, a 60.8% rise in service, 38.9% in industry and 0.3% in agriculture. The total retail obtained nearly VND22,932bil, winning 129% of yearly plan. Industry and construction value reached nearly VND7,109bil, a 22.3% increase from 2010. The local average income reached VND49mil per capita per year, reaching over 120% from 2010.

Based on the results, the locality in this year sets out goals of gaining a 28.2% increase in growth rate, 27% in retail turnover, 15% in average income per capita per year, 20% in industry and construction value and among others.

Pham Van Minh, chairman of the town People’s Council, said the town set out tasks and measures for every area. The town will focus on solving shortcomings to offer favorable conditions for investors’ business, revoking inability projects, giving priorities for market system management, solving violations on trade fraud.

In addition, the locality will concentrate on upholding and implementing policies of investment attraction and assistance, encouraging and offering favorable conditions for handicraft industry’s development and placing jobs for local laborers. Additionally, the town will pay attention to launching a program of building new rural areas at 3 communes of Tan An, Tuong Binh Hiep and Chanh My, developing models of urban agricultural production, building synchronous investment plans on socio-economic infrastructure facility and so on.

For socio-economic field, the locality will give priorities for solving policies for local people, focusing on implementation of the national goal programs on poverty reduction and job generation for the 2011-2015 period.

With the synchronous tasks and measures, it is hoped that the locality will reach and exceed goals set out in 2012 and the following years.
