Excellent collectives and individuals in Thuan An district are honored.

Thuan An district has so far had 1,860 businesses with over 100,000 laborers from 1,246 companies in 2005. Defining the important role of labor union organization for workforce, over the past 5 years, the district Labor Union has steered its affiliates to take care for laborers’ life.

Workforce emerging

In the period of 2005-2010, Thuan An district Labor Union newly set up 88 locals admitting 14,384 members. The union has so far had 344 locals of 37,157 members out of over 52,000 laborers. Overall, the local workforce has about 65% of laborers under 30 ages. Most of the local workforce has a high awareness, contributing to the local industrialization and modernization.

One of the highlighted thing of the local all level locals is that launching of resolutions is close to real life of laborers plus efforts of locals help reach many set targets. Besides, locals have paid much attention to legal promulgations for members. Specifically, from 2005-2010, locals held over 1,000 training sessions with the participation of over 150,000 members. Through the sessions, laborers’ political stuff has been improved significantly.

In the movement of “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples”, local labor union discovered hundreds of good initiatives, helping raise the efficiency of labor and production. Additionally, locals at all levels have well implemented the mobilization of building loyal, creative and exemplary public servants, contributing to improve the quality of public servant force.

Laborers’ life improved

In the period of 2005-2010, the district Labor Union conducted concerted inspections on labor disputes across 191 businesses, solving legitimate rights and interests for over 6,000 laborers.

Moreover, the local Labor Union set up legal consultancy teams for nearly 1,000 laborers and 127 businesses. Also the past time, the local all level locals excelled in taking care for laborers’ life by offering loans for 427 needed members. Grassroot locals at state-run agencies and schools maintained 53 capital assistance teams for 1,658 members with the total preferential loans worth about VND10bil.

According to Vo Thi Thanh Huong, chairwoman of the local Labor Union, locals have made much progress in implementing their functions. Besides, they have held many patriotic emulation movements and built a strong force of laborers, contributing to local socio-economic development.

She added, “To take care and protect laborers’ legitimate rights and interests, the union will keep innovating its operational measures and steering its affiliates to build a harmonic, stable and advanced relations for local development”.
