To accelerate project preparation of water environment improvement in Binh Duong province

Morning 25 August, at Binh Duong Water - Environment Joint Stock Company (Biwase), Nguyen Thanh Truc, vice chairman of the PPC; and head of departments, related branches, and management board of waste water specializing project had an online meeting with representatives of the World Bank to prepare for Binh Duong Water Environment Improvement Project.

World Bank's delegation worked directly with Binh Duong Wastewater Project Management Board and offered advice about the project, the construction of Tan Uyen wastewater treatment plant with capacity 20,000 m3 / day and night and collection system; Increase the capacity of Thuan An wastewater treatment plant, capacity of 20,000 m3 / day and night and collection system; Increase capacity of Di An wastewater treatment plant, capacity of 20,000 m3 / day and night and collection system; Renovate Suoi Tre - Tan Uyen drainage canal to receive wastewater after treatment of Tan Uyen wastewater treatment plant. 

Currently, the bank's experts gave guidance on the preparation of reports on social safety, environmental impact assessment; data collection for economic and financial analysis of the project; the formulation of bidding strategy in accordance with World Bank's regulations and bidding plan for the project.

At the meeting, the two sides also discussed the plan, next steps to implement the project. Expected time to approve the feasibility of reports is on January 31, 2021; Negotiation period is in February 2021. Time for negotiation and approval of the World Bank's Directors Board is in March 2021. 

Representatives of World Bank proposed Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee to consider and direct departments to support Binh Duong Wastewater Project Management Board to review the documents in advance while waiting for the approval of Provincial People's Committee, ministries, branches, and the Prime Minister. Nguyen Thanh Truc said that Binh Duong province paid much attention to this project and committed to directing the related works so that the project could be implemented in time.
