To improve effectiveness of the unification of young workers

2021 was the first year of project implementation "Unification of young workers in Binh Duong province in 2021-2025 period" (hereinafter referred to as the project) Although the Covid-19 has made a bad impact, young workers have united to overcome the pandemic, continued to build unions, and had practical activities.

To overcome difficulties

When the Covid-19 was raging in the province, Steering Committee of the project directed sub-committees at all levels to intensify information dissemination, directed party committees, youth union branches, clubs, teams and groups to actively participate in community Covid groups. Through information channels, union branches, youth core forces, and collaborators to grasp social public opinions, thoughts of youth members and workers in lodging houses, social housing areas, residential areas...

The implementation of projects, criteria for establishment, inspection and supervision of activities of clubs, teams, groups, and branches of Youth Union were integrated into emulation movements and considered as a key and important task in the annual work program. On the other hand, Youth Union at all levels regularly checked the quality of established youth unions and associations, focused on improving the quality of their organization, and dissolved or deleted branches that had no practical activities.

Because of difficulties caused by the Covid-19, the Provincial Project Steering Committee issued a document on the transfer of some 2021 targets to the remaining years of the period. Despite the impact of the coronavirus, social distancing measures implemented across the province, the Project Organizing Committees at all levels directed branches to carry out activities in online and flexible forms, to cooperate with other sectors to organize law dissemination sessions for workers. With these efforts to overcome difficulties, in the year, the whole province also established 35 new union branches of workers in lodging houses, 7 non-state youth branches, 3 non-state youth unions and 5 youth connection clubs.

To develop the project in new situation

Currently, the Covid-19 has been under control in Binh Duong, with the synchronous coordination among the Project Steering Committee, the Project Organizing Committee at all levels, agencies and mass organizations in the province and the agreement and support of business establishments and lodging house owners, the project will continue to promote its effectiveness. During the Lunar New Year 2022, all levels and sectors did their best to take care of poor migrant workers in the province.

From wards, hamlets to districts, towns and province, thousands of Tet gifts were given to needy workers in lodging houses. In addition, there were extensive programs across the province, such as: Giving gifts to poor workers, "Bringing Tet home", presenting bus tickets and flight tickets to workers, giving "dream rooms" and donating worker supporting funds... The solidarity and consensus of the entire political system in the province continued to help poor workers overcome difficulties and feel secure to live and work in Binh Duong.

The attention and care helped launch the project from the beginning of 2022 in the mutual affection spirit. Tran Bao Lam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Federation, said that in 2022, in addition to completing the project targets, Youth Unions at all levels will focus on improving the quality of youth organizations, ensuring regular activities, promptly strengthen weak branches throughout the province.

On the other hand, youth unions will enhance the training of skills and knowledge improvement, promote the role of secretaries and  heads of youth union branches, worker union branches in lodging houses; continue to build and foster the core force of elite workers in enterprises and lodging houses. In particular, youth organizations need to develop a mechanism to reflect two-way information, capture public opinions, heighten the role of core force and collaborators in capturing thoughts and aspirations, propagating Party and State policies among young workers.

In addition, grassroots youth union branches will commend and spread good practices, models in worker unification activities, such as meeting places for migrant members, youth connection clubs, and setting up model lodging houses, giving dream rooms…; at the same time, continue to advise and strengthen the mobilization of social resources to better take care of the material and spiritual lives of workers.
