To jointly relieve pains of Orange Agent victims

The so-called 'chemical war' conducted by the US Army in Vietnam caused extremely harsh and long-term consequences for the environment and human life - the Orange Agent tragedies.  Will the AO pains ever be released? Therefore, joining hands to heal orange agent victims is not a single person's task! M.D. Pham Ngoc Thai, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association for AO Victims said that following the instructions of the Association, the provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (DONRE) in collaboration with relevant units to select personnel and decide on acknowledged movement of the foundation of Provincial Association for AO Victims. After four months of mobilization, the Congress of Provincial Association for AO Victims convened for the first time in the 2007-2012 tenure.At the Congress, the task-oriented activities of the whole tenure was passed and Executive Committee consists of 15 persons was elected. Provincial Party Committee also issued Document No. 65/CV-TU dated November 5, 2010 to the Party committees, governments, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels demanding to perform five tasks supporting Conclusion No. 292/TB-TW of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee. The Provincial People's Committee has also dispatched Document No. 3689/PC-VX dated December 3, 2010 on "Promoting activities to support Vietnamese Association for AO Victims". After actions in Ben Cat District, districts of Phu Giao, Di An, Thuan An, and Thu Dau Mot City have their associations with 485 members. Currently, Binh Duong has 5,214 victims of Agent Orange.Up to this point only 919 victims are entitled to provincial supporting policies.The remaining is processing the procedures. So as to join hands in healing Agent Orange victims, over time, all levels, sectors and organizations of the province have conducted many practical activities. Up to date, advocacy have been made for 5 charity core houses to the victims at the amount of nearly VND 65 million. Annually, nearly VND 519 million was paid out to organization of commemoration and visits to local AO victims. Life of Agent Orange victims are now in great difficulties in terms of material, physical and spiritual life. "Provincial Association of AO Victims was launched to mobilize all the strata of people, organizations and individuals domestically and abroad out of care and support for AO victims.
