To keep promoting the role of the farmer class 

Morning Oct 8^th, the 8^th Executive Committee of provincial Farmers' Association (2013-2018 tenure) held the preliminarily summarizing conference and the 85^th anniversary of Vietnam Farmer's Association. Nguyen Hong Ly, Vice President of Central Vietnam Farmers' Association; Nguyen Huu Tu, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Huynh Thanh Long, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Council; former leaders of provincial Party, People’s Committee, Farmers' Association, and typical farmers of localities attended the meeting.

During the first 2 years of this tenure, provincial Farmers' Association and Binh Duong Provincial farmer class implemented well programs of: developing Farmers Support Fund, admitting new members, building fund, training staff, promoting collective economy, constructing new rural. Farmers engaged actively in socio-economic development, especially the movement of farmer doing well business, helping each other to enrich themselves, reducing poverty sustainably; thereby, improving farmer’s life, reducing poor household rate in the province. The association and affiliates have continuously innovate their organization, contents, and activity form; developed effective home-based business model, commended excellent farmers, staff… The association admitted 8,465 new members (the current total number of members is 56,386). Farmers Support Fund got nearly VND80 billion and disbursed to implement 207 projects…

At the conference, delegates also reviewed 85 years of Vietnam Farmers' Association development; thereby, consolidating farmer class’s patriotism, loyalty to the Party, contributions to the Fatherland’s construction and protection.

Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Huu Tu emphasized, in the future, provincial agricultural sector would have many opportunities as well as challenges. Therefore, all levels of provincial Farmers' Association need to timely overcome limitations; continue to encourage farmers to restructure crops and livestock towards high-tech agriculture, urban agriculture; boost cooperation to improve agricultural product quality; innovate content and form of activities, consolidate organization…

On this occasion, farmer Vo Tuan Kiet in Chanh Nghia ward, TDM City received certificate of merit from the Prime Minister; 59 typical individuals received “For the Vietnamese farmer class” medal from the Central Vietnam Farmers' Asociation.
