To warm the hearts of workers when spring comes

Of nearly 1,300 enterprises reporting Tet bonus plans to the Provincial Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, only 7 enterprises will not have Tet bonus. The average Tet bonus this year is more than 6 million VND/person. In the last months of the year, many businesses face difficulties because of the decreasing number of orders and raw materials, but still make efforts to have Tet bonuses for employees.

In addition to Tet bonuses, many businesses also organize year-end parties and cultural sports events for employees at year-end.

Despite difficulties, workers have Tet bonuses

In recent days, many businesses have held year-end celebrations, early welcome Tet for their employees, and announced Tet bonuses to encourage employees. Truong Thi Thuy Lien, Vice President of Binh Duong Leather Footwear Association, Director of Lien Phat Company (Di An City) shared: “Many leather footwear businesses in the province are facing common difficulties, they maintain moderate business operations in the last months of the year.

Despite many difficulties, companies have Tet bonuses for workers, about 5-7 million VND / person, only a few businesses give VND3-million bonus. The association has also mobilized employees to share difficulties with businesses and overcome this period together”.

Phan Thi Thu Ha, worker of Lien Phat Co., Ltd. said: “I’m so happy as the company announced our Tet bonus from 7-10 million VND/person. In addition, each worker is also supported with travelling costs to return home and gifts, worth 1-2 million VND each, depending on worker’s seniority and skills.

This is a great effort from the company. In the past months, the company sometimes let workers take 1 to 2 days off work per week but still pay full salary. About 1,000 workers still have their jobs.

In Khanh Binh Ward, Tan Uyen Town, Directors Board of Bradsense Company has announced good news to employees as offering a Tet bonus of 5-10 million VND depending on the seniority and skills of the workers.

Besides, the company held a year-end party to celebrate the spring, gave each person a Tet gift worth 300,000 VND. This bonus is only average, but this is a great effort of the Directors Board because the company has faced many difficulties for many months.

Le Hong Ngoc, Human Resources Director of Bradsense Company, said: “The company are encountering difficulties in orders and materials. The Directors Board try their best to take care of the employees, and hope that the employees will sympathize with the company”.

Nguyen Van Tam, a worker at Techtroniec Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd (Tan Uyen Town) said: “The company's trade union has organized an early Tet celebration for thousands of employees at the company, with regional food festival, miss elegance contest, singing and dancing competition etc. to create a fun playground for workers.

Although this year the company is facing common difficulties, they have a Tet bonus plan like every year, in addition to the gift giving program and visits to employees, especially workers having difficult circumstances. Through such activities, we are more attached to our company.”

To ensure everyone has a happy Tet

This year, anticipating that workers' lives will face difficulties, the Provincial Labor Confederation proactively built a plan worth more than 300 billion VND to take care of workers' lives very early and thoughtfully with practical activities, like: Tet market days, visiting and giving gifts to poor workers and workers staying in Binh Duong during Tet, taking care of orphans, providing free medical examination, organizing Tet cultural sports programs…

In particular, the provincial Labor Confederation also organized Spring train program to present 5,000 round-trip train tickets to bring workers to their hometown in the Central and Northern provinces for Tet celebration, with a total budget of 20 billion VND. Trade Unions also give 2,700 bus tickets worth more than 2 billion VND to help workers reunite with their families for Tet holidays.

New Year care programs for employees will officially kick off on the evening of 30th December 2022 with a Tet Reunion program at Cultural Sports and Communication Center of Tan Uyen Town. The program is combined with Trade Union’s Tet Market 2023, which will offer preferential discounts on Tet items and services, have folk games activities, cultural shows, free legal advice and health check for employees.

It is expected that 1,000 poor workers from Tan Uyen Town, North Tan Uyen District, Phu Giao District are invited to attend the program. The organizers will offer discount vouchers to 1,000 employees, each voucher worth 200,000 VND. Provincial People's Committees and localities will give gifts to employees living in hardship, free train and bus tickets…

Provincial Labor Confederation anticipated that a few businesses would be too difficult and have no Tet bonus for their employees; thus has a contingency plan to tackle this. Provincial Labor Confederation directed district-level confederations to review and spend trade union funds on giving gifts and money to disadvantaged employees. Labor Confederation of districts, towns and cities also mobilized businesses and benefactors to make additional support.

Also, the Provincial Labor Confederation proposed Provincial People's Committee supports 46,000 gifts for disadvantaged employees in the province (each gift includes 1 million VND in cash and 1 gift, double that of Tet 2022).

Additionally, Provincial Labor Confederation provided 100,000 gifts for disadvantaged workers financed by trade unions; directed grassroots trade unions to use all trade union’s financial resources to take care of employees.

For employees living in harsh circumstances and without Tet bonus, the authorities at commune and ward levels will provide each family with a gift worth not less than 500,000 VND. Although there are many difficulties, with the attention and support of all government levels and enterprises, employees in Binh Duong province feel cozy and happy as Tet is coming.
