Traffic was in safety and order

The number of local passengers with travel demand on Tet was at around 130,000 people, a 25% rise from 2010. Besides, there were over 50,000 people from northern, central and western provinces went through the province.

Dam Trong Cuong, vice director of the local Transport department, said “Thanks to good reputation, coach cooperatives from Northern provinces actively cooperated with local functional agencies to operate on Tet holiday. Aside from offering advantages for coach companies, the department in cooperation with functional agencies strengthened inspections and patrols to ensure traffic order”.

He added that local transport department worked with neighboring localities of HCMC, Dong Nai to offer vehicles for the sake of passenger service before, during and after Tet.

Apart from measures, plans on telecom and traffic, functional agencies boosted inspections to ensure safety. The agencies discovered a cheat case of selling train tickets at Phu Hoa ward. Meanwhile, traffic policemen fined vehicles carrying overload.
