Tree-planting festival themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho” launched

Early May 15, provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to launch the 2024 "Tet tree planting festival themed “Forever grateful to Uncle Ho” in Di An city’s Di An ward on the occasion of the 134th birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024) and towards World Environment Day, June 5.

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation; Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, sectors and localities.

Over the past time, along with strong investment in industrial and urban development, Binh Duong province paid special attention to solving ecological environment problems, ensuring a living environment for the local people. Provincial People's Committee also approved and implemented provincial Urban Green Tree Project, contributing to the implementation of the "Project to plant 1 billion trees in the period of 2021-2025" launched by the Prime Minister. In 2023, agencies, businesses and people in the province actively participated in planting over 83,000 trees of all kinds, equivalent to about 199 hectares...

At the launching ceremony of the tree planting festival, Mr. Dung called on districts and cities to organize specific and practical activities to mobilize the local whole political system and people to participate in planting trees and improving the landscape of living environment, building up a cultural and civilized lifestyle in each agency, business and residential community; recheck unused land fund to plant trees within the local management to increase the rate of tree coverage across the province. He also suggested each individual and business to partially contribute their resources to tree planting activities, which is the direct investment in their own green future...

After the launching ceremony, delegates and people planted about 1,000 trees of all kinds at the green park construction site, DT743 street, Thong Nhat 1 quarter, Di An ward.
