As part of the activities in the Year of Youth 2011 and in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU), Phu Giao district’s Youth Union, Young Pioneer Organization and Cultural House for Children held the “Bup be xinh ngoan” (Obedient-healthy children) contest 2011 and the 11th  “Thanh nien khoe” (Healthy youths) Cross-country Tournament 2011. This year’s cross-country tournament absorbed over 500 athletes from the affiliates of the district’s Youth Union.

Di An town’s Youth Union also organized a cross-country tournament and a culinary contest named “Youths do the cooking”. Finally, Nguyen Thanh Tuyen in An Binh ward and Nguyen Thi Nga in Dong Hoa ward grasped first prizes at the cross-country tournament while the Youth Union of the district’s Division of Natural Resources and Environment excellently topped the culinary contest.

In Ben Cat district, the Youth Union of Thoi Hoa commune launched the “Green Sunday” campaign among the local youths. Accordingly, the local youths cleaned up the road D12 of hamlet 6 and delivered leaflets on environmental protection to the local households. On this occasion, the communal Youth Union and Military Council visited and presented 18 gifts and many other necessary things to recruits at Phu Giao district’s Regiment 271.

Meanwhile, more than 15 youths of Dinh Thanh commune in Dau Tieng district held an exchange program with soldiers at Cau Mountain. The Youth Unions of Dinh Hiep, Minh Thanh, Dinh Thanh also organized the trips “Return to the roots” to the Cu Chi tunnel.
