VND5.9billion mobilized from farmers to build new-style rural areas

Early July 15, the Executive Committee of provincial Farmers’ Association held its 8^th session for the 2013-2018 tenure to approve a report on activities of the association in the first half of 2016, in attendance of Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Public Relations.

Provincial Farmers’ Associations at all levels over the past six months mobilized members to contribute more than VND815million to provincial Farmers’ Support Fund. So far, the fund has amounted to approximately VND83.246trillion. Under the national target program on new style rural construction, provincial Farmers’ Associations at all levels also mobilized members to take part in upgrading rural roads with over VND5.9 billion and 5,492 working days. Some members also donated more than 36,830 square meters of land to the local construction of public works. 

On this occasion, 3 outstanding individuals in the cause of national construction and defence were also awarded the certificates of merit of Prime Minister.
