Vocational training of key occupations to be developed

According to Decision No.854 of Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) on "Approval of key occupations and schools selected for key occupations, 2011-2015 and towards 2020", vocational education and training establishments in the province have chosen to provide training programs of key industries according to ASEAN and the world’s standards in order to own a high-quality human resource to serve Industry 4.0 and Binh Duong Smart City project in the coming time.

Setting up key occupations

General Department of Vocational Training (MOLISA) proposed vocational training schools to analyze and evaluate the results of enrollment, training and employed graduates, then identify annual training demands till 2020 of each key industry at international, ASEAN and national level on the basis of the forecast of the demand for trained workers in the key industries up to 2020. General Department of Vocational Training also asked vocational training establishments to select training occupations in line with socio-economic development plan, human resource development plans of localities, regions, branches, domestic and international labor market.

 

Dong An Hi-Tech College upgrade material facilities for teaching activities of key occupations.

Vietnam-South Korea Binh Duong College (Thu Dau Mot) is investing in key occupations. The school target is that, by 2020, the school would be qualified for international level training such as metal cutting; mechatronics; industrial electricity; industrial electronics... Each field will enroll 100 to 430 students. The college will also invest in material facilities, programs, teaching and learning equipment to step by step improve itself towards high technology, to become high-quality college according to ASEAN and international standards.

At Dong An Hi-Tech College (Di An town), the school is building up training programs for key fields such as: engineering; power electronics; information technology; car technology. Rector Ta Xuan Te said that the implementation of training courses on key jobs according to international standards would give with standardized qualifications and open opportunities to students. It can be practiced anywhere with a recognized professional standard. The college purchased modern training equipment worth more than VND200 billion manufactured from European countries, America, Japan, South Korea ... to serve the teaching, practice and scientific research activities, contributing to heightening training quality, meeting demands of industries in the integration time. The school is affiliated with a number of companies such as Intel, Masan Group... to provide practical skills trainings at enterprises.

To gather resources

An obvious benefit is that many career opportunities for graduates from trainings of regional and international level. They are competent to make their selection of workplace, income level corresponding to their level, skills. In addition, the regional and world-class training of key industries is gradually implemented in the province, and will be the foundation for Binh Duong to own good human resources serving the industrialization and modernization; meeting the requirements of large corporations, investors. Therefore, provincial leaders pay much attention to training for high-quality human resources.

In addition to provincial budget, vocational training establishments in the province are financed by the Central budget according to key occupations project and high-quality vocational training institutions project. Provincial People's Committee stipulated Decision 102/QĐ-UBND and Decision 1982/QD-UBND to approve the investment for key occupations project in 2011-2015 for refrigeration, machinery repair, and civil electrical engineering. In the period 2011-2015, the total investment is VND42.08 billion, was allocated to five school having key occupations at national, ASEAN and international level; Of which, VND34.08 billion was allocated to Vietnam-Singapore Vocational College for equipment purchase of vocational training. Provincial People's Committee issued Decision 1915/QĐ-UBND approving the Scheme for high-quality vocational colleges by 2020. In 2017-2018, Vietnam-Singapore Vocational College will receiveVND10 billion for the procurement of machinery, equipment of key occupations. In 2016-2017, Binh Duong Vietnam-South Korea Vocational College imported vocational training equipment from Korea under an ODA project between the two governments with the winning price of VND113,991 billion (an ODA project worth $6 million).

In the case of key occupations project of the Central, the province also attaches special importance to professional training for vocational teachers through the training and retraining of teachers with pedagogical qualifications and professional skills meeting regional and world-class standards. In addition, every three years, DOLISA counsel Provincial People's Committee to hold professional education conferences at provincial level and select teachers to take national examinations. The conference is a place for sharing experiences on teaching method innovation in vocational schools across the country.
