Early Feb.16, the Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company (Casumina) started construction of its factory manufacturing full-steel radian automobile tires in Tan Uyen district’s Uyen Hung township.

Covering more than 12 hectares, the factory has a total investment capital of VND3.380trillion (equivalent to US$160mln) with the average capacity of 1mln automobile tires per year.

 

The construction of the factory is divided into three phases: first phase, from now till 2013, with capacity of 350,000 automobile tires per year; second phase to be implemented by the end of 2015 with capacity raised to 600,000 automobile tires per year; third phase to be started by the end of 2015 with capacity lifted to 1mln automobile tires per year.

 

Once completed, the factory will help Casumina secure another VND5trillion and generate new jobs for 1,200 laborers, according to Nguyen Tuan Ngoc, CEO of Casumina.
