Work starts on hi-tech dairy farm

Update: 08-05-2013 | 00:00:00

Advanced farming technique

The farm will strongly apply IT into management, so all activities relating to management and care for dairy herd will be implemented through advanced management software of the EU. Breeding facilities will be designed on a closed process in conformity with growing period of dairy herd. In addition, every breeding area has a space with the purpose of creating partial separation and relaxation for dairy herd.

Each dairy cow will enjoy a rubber mattress, imported from the EU, that is especially designed to suit to new breeding technology. Additionally, control technology of microclimate at dairy cages will prevent stress for dairy herd.

Bui Thi Thanh Tra, deputy general director of Sugarcane and Sugar II Company said that automatic milking line will be managed and operated by software being connected with a database system to ensure quality and output of milk. Automatic cold system and management system of milk quality will help adjust temperature of milk to maintain quality of milk. The total mix ration technology will be applied into nutrition for dairy herd. The advanced technology and equipment will help control disease epidemics and solve environment better.

Easy transfer for farmers

Binh Duong Sugar JSC general director Nguyen Thanh Trung said that this project would be built and transferred model of Demo farm to farmers. This model is set up to suitable to farmers who have less land and capital. Through Demo farm, the project’s investor will have a good chance to help farmers apply the advanced model in their production.

Initially, the company will choose manpower to send to Netherlands, France, Canada and the US to learn experience in a bid to build an exemplary farm for farmers.

Ensuring output stably

Friesland Campina VN Company opened training classes on guiding farmers to care for dairy herd and preserving milk as well as growing grass with high capacity, creating a premise for building a dairy breeding community with a large scale.

Statistically, milk consumption index in Vietnam reaches only 14kg per capita per year whilst the index in other developing nations is at 30-60kg of milk per capita per year and in the developed ones at 118kg per year.

The hi-tech dairy farm is a new model of Binh Duong provincial dairy breeding sector in conformity with the local breeding development trend. The project will create many jobs for laborers and contribute to spur Phu Giao district’s economic development in particular and Binh Duong’s in general.
